  1. The bi-weekly ChEGSO meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 2:30 pm at the Science Hall 117.
  2. $5.00 fee for refreshment for Spring 2016.
  3. Open positions: ChEGSO Treasurer, ChEGSO Webmaster. The treasurer must attend the Financial Procedure Workshop (FPW) on the proposed date of the ASNMSU.

  1. GSC meeting update:

GSC President Amador traveled to meet with the New Mexico Senate in Santa Fe in order to address the graduate students’ concerns. The major points discussed are:

  1. The graduate students’ payment adjustment.
  2. More inclusive approach for the grad students’ representation from the NMSU while meeting the NM Senate.
  1. If you are interested in getting funding,
  2. Complete your documentation as soon as possible – at least 1 month before the conference. Relevant documents are available at the organizational website where you plan to submit the application.
  3. You need to submit the approximate cost NOT real cost.

III. Documents: hotel cost, air ticket cost, registration fee, proof of attendance/presentation from the conference/symposium website or email, approximate gas cost etc.

  1. Contact a Senator or the Treasurer of the organization to forward your bill.
  2. Complete 5 hours of community service – On or Off-campus. DO keep proof using the funding providing organization’s form along with signatures at appropriate positions.
  3. Manage your support letter from your advisor.

VII. Graduate Student Council requires the application at least 3 weeks before the travel.

VIII. Sooner you submit your application to the ASNMSU better your chance is to secure funding – prior to going to the conference.

  1. Scholarship / Research Grant opportunities: DO check the conference or symposium website for various research grants and scholarship opportunities while you register or plan to attend.
